Ralph was one of the most active participants of San Beda's immersion program in one of the most 'challenged' barangays in Masantol. It was an "Adopt-A-Barangay'-like program where he and other San Bedan students lived with the indigenous families in Barangay Balibago in the coastal part of Masantol. Their group participated in cleaning and painting of classrooms, did tree planting, performed medical mission. With the help of his alma mater, San Beda College, they pioneered a very successful 'Balik-Aral Drive' where they donated books and school supplies to the elementary students of Brgy. Balibago.
