Philippines' 'Secret Weapon' - TV5 Reporter Michelle Mediana

A charming Filipino reporter who is part of the media covering the aftermath of the fatal shooting of a Taiwanese fisherman by a Philippine Coast Guard vessel has turned into a celebrity and is now called the Philippines’ 'Secreat Weapon'.

Michelle Mediana, a TV reporter for TV5 in the Philippines, drastically changed the atmosphere of the diplomatic row between Philippines and Taiwan as she has turned into an instant celebrity in Taiwan since she arrived in the country.

"A peaceful end to the diplomatic row between the Philippines and Taiwan could be in sight, courtesy of a charm offensive by TV5 news reporter Michelle Mediana", Interaksyon news said on its publication.

Mediana has already been interviewed thrice by the Chinese media. Their fascination for Mediana is a refreshing break from recent reports of incidents of harassment being suffered by Fillipino expatriate workers from angry Taiwanese.

Some speculated that Mediana was intentionally sent to either distract or appease the Taiwanese.
